About the Artist

Artist Statement

When I engage in artistic expression, I feel directly connected to generations of art lovers in my family, especially my elders who patiently helped me build my drawing and painting foundation throughout my childhood. I grew up to embrace the artist in me more seriously after recognizing how much I enjoy the challenges and struggles of the creative process, in addition to beholding a completed project.

After a lifetime dedicated to painting people, plants, and animals, I am also indulging my curiosity and wonder in attempting to evoke emotional responses to free floating forms. I am allowing myself to be playful with rich colors and textures as I treat each piece as a window into an unreal world in which the unanticipated reveals itself.
